On no! Who else would get to buy a new dipstick for the car when the old one
does not reach the oil anymore! :-)

Not in the eyes of the GRO - these descriptions are still used on death
certs today, although a womans occupation will also be stated.

At a lecture from a GRO manager, he stated that perhaps is was about time
they came into the 21st century and also added details of spouses on a mans
death certificate - as a family historian that would be SO useful, if only
they had done it 150 years ago.
