Having had a Son there, it looks very much as if that was the reason for
admission.
Many Women had to do this .... for differing reasons, maybe abandoned by her
family for the "disgrace" she would be unable to care for herself, and
entered the workhouse.
The Crimphill Workhouse became Old Windsor Hospital which merged with King
Edward VII Hospital, after 1948 under the National Health Service.
