Hi Jan

I have just noticed that you run the Unionwork House site and wondered if you could help me.

My Grandmother FLORENCE BEATRICE BAILEY (NEE FISHER) was born in a Union Work House 5th January 1888 to a Sidney Fisher and Mary Ann Fisher formerly Hurle. Mary Ann address was given as 12 Milford Street Clapham.

The question I am asking is who owned the Union Workhouse? and how do I go about getting more information on the workhouse and its occupants

This question has arisen as it is said that although Florence was born in the work house her mother Mary Ann either owned or managed it.
