Matilda Woods gave birth to Emily in 1879 in this workhouse.
Had a look at the records for the Bridgend W.H. and find they do not start until 1894.
The Cottage homes begin in 1879.
Also found 7 Matilda's on St. Caths that may fit birth, 4 in optimal birth year 1854 BUT I do not know the parent(s).
Isn't genealogy a wonderful relaxing pastime? 8-()
