Hi Alan,
I've gone for the simple option with my database.
For a start the database is actually an Excel table so it is not searchable
in the same way that a proper database would be, but I'm just not Access
literate enough to tackle it.
Basically I've sorted the table alphabetically by place name and then I'm
splitting it into a series of pages which I will load up onto my website.
Then if you want the letter A, they will all be on one page.
I was given a web address of www.databases.com which was supposed to be a
site offering the facilities to upload a searchable database. When I tried
it though, the site was under construction. It might be worth a look in case
they have got it going.
I must say that this web stuff is not for the faint hearted!
