Poor House between 1881 and 1887. The poor records for Hamilton record the
fact that their mother gave birth to them in the Poor House but I can find
no record of their birth or christening on the GRO database. Can anyone
suggest where else I might look for these records.

Hi Bill and Jenny,

Were the children illegitimate? Have you checked the birth indexes under the
names of both parents (just in case). Married women in Scotland often did
not use a married name, continuing to use their own names after marriage,
but children should be registered under the father's surname.

Just a thought!
Good luck
