I had an ancestor die in Clutton Union Workhouse.

Thomas Carter (Son of James) b.1830 Midsomer Norton.
Married to Lavinia, on the 18th Nov. 1854 in Clutton Registry Office.
Thomas died in the UNION WORKHOUSE in 1911.
Questions...
Was he there through ....old age ?..poverty ?...insanity ?..Illness ?
Are there medical records ?
If he died there.....Is he buried there ?..or elsewhere ?

Any help you could give me would be most appreciated.
