Dear Carol

There are pictures and some information about Nunnery Fields on
Peter Higginbotham's workhouse site at

http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhouse/Canterbury/Canterbury.html

The workhouse became a geriatric hospital. Diane Tempest, who
subscribes to this list, told me that the hospital is now empty and
also that there is a book about it - although I do not know the
details. Perhaps Diane, or someone else, will know them.

Best Wishes

Andrew

Hello, could anyone on the list have any information regarding a hospital, or un-married mothers home, workhouse or infirmary or even a convent? called Nunnery Fields, or any institution around the village of Harbledown in 1935. My Mother would love to have some information as Nunnery Fields is
stated as her birth place on her birth certificate. 15th Oct 1935. To a Sylvia Robinson of 1 Faulkners Lane Harbledown, any information on Sylvia would be greatly appreciated. born around 1918? No Father is named on the certificate.
