Subject: [UK-W&H] MARGARET JANE JAMES in Stannington
Date: Mon, 25 Nov 2002 11:42:39 -0000
The 1881 Census records show that my Great-grandmother, Margaret Jane James, was born in Stannington in Northumberland around 1841. I know that there was an Institution there for a long while, that may still be active.
However, since all her siblings were born in Newcastle or Gateshead, this may only have been a temporary home for the family and nothing to do with the Institution.
Does anyone have access to records which would throw light on the situation. The 1841 Census for example? Access to this isn't so easy from Warwickshire.
Regards
Fred Edgar
