Could some one please tell me the difference between and Almshouse and a poorhouse.
We dont have them in New Zealand.

Also when a census ie 1841 is taken in Deptford/Greenwich of an Almshouse etc how are they recorded?
I need to sight the 1841 and 1851 for the area.
