Subject: [UK-W&H] Lincoln Workhouse Officials - WALTON, 1913

I would like to find out about officials of the workhouse in Lincoln in 1913.

The parents of my Uncle-in-Law (Edgar WALTON) were presented with a pair of silver napkin rings, which I found when clearing out his house in York after he died in 1984. They are inscribed "Presented to Mr & Mrs WALTON by the officers of the Lincoln Workhouse 1913.". This suggests that they were also officials of the Workhouse.

I knew that his parents had moved from Lincoln to York, when my uncle was a boy (probably in the 1910's or 1920's). The napkin rings could have been a leaving present when they they left Lincoln.

My uncle and aunt had no children, and I have kept very few papers that they had (not realising in 1984 that I might be interested in family history later), so I have few clues about his background. My aunt had died before my uncle.

Could anybody help me find out more about them ?
