Good Afternoon
I need some advice please. An ancestor had a baby in St Giles workhouse London on the 9th July 1862 she was unmarried and the boy my Great Great Grandfather was named William Randall, I'm trying to find out where he would be baptised it has been suggested St Giles Church which was nearby.
2/ My ancestor Sophia Randall who was the Mother was discharged 6 days later. We have found her witnessing a will in 1863 and 1864. What would have happened to the baby? any ideas. Also a further curious point was that when she died in N Z she had photos of the Lady whose will she witnessed and the son of said Lady . This son was known to have had other illegitmate children. He was from a very wealthy family. Sophia never disclosed the Father of Williams name. A further point Sophia married before she went to N Z and they took said William with them. Won't bore you with all the many other details .
Any help or advice much appreciated.
Regards Beverley
