Revision 26: Surnames. Below is our January list of surnames belonging to
people from Chernigov Gubernia, that people in our email group are
researching. Each researcher is grouped with a number to the left of their
surnames, to differentiate themselves from other researchers. If you wish
to add a Chernigov surname, please email: .
The list is now sent out once a month or less, depending on whether new
members submit names.

Consider adding the surnames of Chernigov spouses who lived in Chernigov.
You might not be related to the spouse, but relatives used to marry cousins.
Example: If your great grandfather's brother from Chernigov had a wife
from Chernigov, and you know her surname, you should
consider researching her surname even if you're not related. You might find
info. regarding your great grandfather's brother which will apply to your
great grandfather.

If you see a surname on this list, it may be your own entry. If it's not
your listing, please send a blast to: , and
hopefully all interested researchers will reply. Once the list is posted on
our website, the format will be in excel, so it will look better.

Thanks
