Hi (again) Rosalie. OK. My relationship to Charles Randall (Thanks..I just
had Randall) and Winifred Mercer Ferrell is 3rd cousin once removed. My
MACHINE figured this one out! Ha. As far as James A. Baker and Nancy Myrtle
Ash is concerned, we're related through the Ash name. James is descended
from Meshack Baker, which is not our line. This Baker family is really
researched and well documented. As I remember it, they're of English origin
and our Baker line was of Germany. I have some information on these Bakers
because I had to straighten out who was who to get my line straight. Mom
said she wanted to know your mother's name as "they had to be in school
together." I have the graduation picture of her class, but she started early
because Uncle Bud wouldn't go to school unless "Sis" went too. Sis, is mom.
That would be the class of 1930 as near as I can figure. Yes, I've been to
the Tyler County Historical Society. Haven't had any luck recently though.
They were closed in the winter-I always go there the week of December 7th and
they were closed Memorial Day because someone had a wedding in the school.
It was frustrating. They do a great job of preserving the Tyler County
Heritage-have never seen any small town even near their equal!. So....your
brother and I are indirectly related through the Ferrells and we are all
related through the Ash family. How are you doing on the Ash line, by the
