Jason, so glad to hear from you. I have worked on my Underwoods for years
and have included what I have in my books on southern families, but can't
get back to my immigrant for sure. I have been to UK many times and taught
English Lit and History. I think "Nether" stands for a place but off hand I
can't remember what the word means. It is not a man's name, though. I am
having a senior moment right now and can't remember what it means, but
excuse me. I lost my husband yesterday morning.
Can't sleep, so that's why I'm at the computer so early this a.m.
Again, thank you for letting us know about the Underwood mansion. I think
my immigrants came from Scotland via Northern England which so many of our
immigrants did.
Be proud of that uniform. I was one of the few during WWII. I went in the
Marines but at that time we were called Women Reserves, plus a few other
names the male Marines gave us, but it never bothered me. Billie in Florida
