>From your Host:
I just wanted to let you know that the dialogue on history has been
refreshing. While it is slightly off topic we will encourage the use of the
mailing list for such forums.
In that light:

Canada)
Headline: In Profile...Vera Babcock
Loyalist's storyteller: Local historian wins provincial honour
"..recently won the Community Recognition Program Award for helping conserve
local heritage."
"Another, and perhaps the most important facet of Babcock's life, is the
children she works with and teaches history to at Odessa Public School."
"Babcock goes over family history with the students and is also working with
them to produce a CD-ROM documenting the history of Odessa."
We need more Vera Babcocks to reach out...and make our UEL heritage
accessible and interesting for youth.
(note: Odessa is the seat of Loyalist Township, Lennox and Addington County,
Ontario - Loyalist Twp. is a 1998 amalgamation of Ernesttown, Bath and
Amherst Island)
Loyally,
Brandt
