Has anyone heard of a family called either Bayard or Mayard (the writer of
the MS I'm looking at, who left some of his luggage with them, has a funny
habit of making capital Ms and Bs look similar) in New York City or Staten
Island area in the 1770s?
If so would be grateful for any information!
