There are lots of pre Loyalist names plus loyalists as shown in this
paragraph. I found it very interesting.

After buying this huge chunk of land, Stephen Peabody and his wife Elizabeth
became active in selling land to willing settlers. Within the area
surrounding the Rusagonis stream Samuel and Stephen Peabody sold to several
people including Samuel Nevers, Hannah Peabody, Jacob Grass, George Hayward,
Zopher Phillips, Thomas Smith, Jeremiah Smith, Daniel Wood, James Bryson,
Patrick Duggan, James Forbes, Daniel Conley and Thomas Waugh. Many of these
made up the primary settlers in the area between 1795-1815. After Stephen
Peabody died, his wife moved to Douglas but continued to sell her land in
Rusagonis until 1875.
