A great book which cover the SKINNER family in the War of 1812, is:

"Where Right and Glory Lead!", by Donald E. Graves...The Battle of Lundy's
Lane, 1814, ISBN 1-896941-03-6

I beleive the Skinner's are also covered in Graves' other book on the
Battle of Chippawa, 1814..."Red Coats and Grey Jackets"
