Dear Dot,
Thank you so much for all of the great sites you have sent me. I am so glad
a long weekend is coming up. I will have to balance my Internet time with
my gardening time, so I hope the weather isn't too great this weekend (;>)
The Elisha Clark you found is the brother of my 3X great grandfather Jabez.
I found it very interesting and quite exciting that the reference came from
a book on the Loyalist Index. Could you give me all of the details on that
book and I will see if the Oakville Library has a copy? They have some
great material on N.B. Loyalists which was donated by a local man. I have
not seen it yet, as I just found out about it recently. At last, my first
reference to this family as Loyalists. Thank you!!!
The Gardner CLARK is also another brother, so I would love to see what info
you have on him. All I have is that he eventually wwent back to the US, but
no one has any inof on him.
Isaac was also another brother, so that info would also be useful. He was
older than Jabez, so he may have been a soldier in Maine before he came to
New Brunswick.
There are several Benjamins in the family - one the brother of Jabez and the
other the son of Elisha, for whose will you have the probate reference.
Leonard SLIPP was the ancestor of Catherine SLIPP who married Elisha CLARK
of the above will. It looks like she must have died before Elisha, as she
is not mentioned in the will. His info would also be helpful, as I could
relay it to my CLARK cousins who are descendants of Elisha and Catherine. I
have Leonard SLIPP's family tree from one of my cousins, so that info would
be most helpful.
I will let you know how the other references work out as I go through them
all.
Again, many many thanks. I can finally see some light at the end of the
tunnel.
Kindest regards,
Anne Clark-Stewart
