David,
I don't think they gave land grants in Hamilton in 1783,
because there was no Hamilton at the time.
You should check with the Hamilton Branch of the OGS and/or
with the UEL Branch in Hamilton, you find their adresses in the
mail list archives, or try www.google.com

I have an ancestor, Aaron Kribs, who got the equal of a military allotment
in Hamilton, Ontario, for himself and his children in 1783, but I don't know
what military unit he was in. Are there any lists available?
