I really must ask about the name Clarkson as to where it fits. The only
Clarkson I knew was a British Home Children born England, who finally came
to Michigan.

Subject: [UEL] CLARKE vs CLARK
Evening all,
I have found that CLARKE is the Irish spelling of the surname. CLARK is the
Americanized version.
This is usuful when going backwards from the individual. My CLARKEs used
both spellings after immigrating here but the documents from Ireland all
have the
"E"
Have a good evening
Bill
