Wait a minute! The Mayflower brought puritan colonists to Massachussetts,
Jamestown was founded earlier as a commercial colony and in what is now
Virginia. The two incidents are not connected.

Capt. John Smith did indeed arrive on the Mayflower and was a founding
father of Jamestown.

Remember the stories of Pocahontas and John Smith?
