The last year before we switch to the 2000 has started and I wish you
all a prosperous, healthy, and interesting year, may we live in peace,
and may we find all the roots we are looking for. :)

This list being sooo young and not having had a real chance to unfold,
did attract 152 subscribers in less than two weeks, and promises to be
a real active one in this new year. Only 42 postings are recorded in
the mail list archives, but this will mushroom in the next few weeks
when more subscribers with new 'puters are coming on line. To you
older 'net' experts a kind reminder to be helpful to the new people.
Please don't forget that we are dealing with Upper Canada affairs,
not regular Ontario stuff. That means anything goes if it is between
1776 and 1841, well, at least born in this time period. Because if a
child was born around the 1841, it means the parents were here before.
To all of you a good new year and lots of new cousins and friends.
Regards, John Helmut Merz.
Oh, by the way, get ready for the #1 Upper Canada Quiz!
