Re CORNELIUS:

Dear Fellow Researchers,

Is anyone researching the UEL "JOHN CORNELIUS" family? I am trying to
prove and document this family, as they are my UEL line.

In the Reid book, "The Loyalists in Ontario", and in the Waller book, "UE
Loyalist Links", the John Cornelius family is listed. John's wife was
Cornelia, and his children were Catherine, Isaac, Peter, John, and
Nicholas. I am descended from Nicholas - 4 generations later !

Have any of you searched and documented John? I haven't been able to
learn any more than that he was born in "America", ca 1758; lived in New
York State (Albany County, and Susquehanna); fought in the American
Revolutionary War; came to Ontario, Canada, and became one of the first
UEL residents of Fredericksburgh Twp in the 1780's.

Who were his parents? What was his family's country of origin? What was
his wife's full name? What sacrifices did he make and what were his
losses as he joined the Loyalists? etc.

If anyone has further information on this Cornelius, or ideas on how to
research him, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,
