You might consider the British Israelite movement which was apparently based
on a belief that Britain was a lost tribe of Israel and therefore the
British were the chosen people of God. It was at its zenith at the height of
the British Empire.
I know nothing more about the movement. This much was gleaned from an aged
relative many years ago.
