Subject: [UPP-CAN] New England Captives taken to Canada.

Hi;
I've added a couple of new pages to my site, along with making a
start on some major revisions to my pages. I will be adding larger
files to a new site I have established at Rootsweb, and these new pages
are the first to be located there. Links will be from my main site
listed below. Any pages I move from my existing site will hopefully be
relocated without ruining anyones links or bookmarks. Hopefully.
My latest project has been to create two pages based on the book
'New England Captives Carried to Canada (between 1677 and 1760 during the
French and Indian Wars)' by Emma Lewis Coleman, published in 1925.
I have reproduced the full index with volume and page references as well
as an excerpt from the book.
You may wonder what this has to do with Canada and Ontario. It
seems a lot of these captives who survived took up residence in Quebec,
and I'm sure some moved on into Ontario. Others would likely be
relatives to some of the Loyalists who later moved here. The excerpt
makes this permanent move to Quebec quite clear. The two volumes of
this book are both well over 400 pages so reproducing it entirely was
out of the question for me. The books I had were from The Toronto
Reference Library on Interlibrary loan. Bill.
Regards, Bill Martin, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.
