My Randall ancestors emigrated from Simcoe Cty in 1883 to Duluth,
Minnesota. It was a booming place then, and may have attracted others.
ancestry.com currently has the city directory for the years 1890/91 and
1891/92 searchable for free. The directory lists "all" male and
unmarried female adults at the address as well as the employer or
occupation.

Further the St. Louis County, Minnesota, website volunteers have
heroically typed in the death indexes for the first half of the century
(approximately). This would include most of the iron mining region for
that time period. The Minnesota Naturalization Index is also online
through the Minnesota Genealogy webpage.

If any of you are looking for a lost "cousin" you might try these
sources.

And a huge thank you to those on the Upper Canada list who have been so
patient and helpful with my inquiries.
