Friends,

Thomas Corcoran was born about 1794 in Crossmolina Ballina Parish. He and his
brothers left Ireland.

He arrived with his brother John at Moose on the EDDYSTONE sailing from
Gravesend. He's served the Hudson Bay Company from 1818 until 1855. (Another
brother Patrick
arrived on the EDWARD & ANN landing at York Factory in 1812. He too joined
HBC. )

He married Charlotte Sutherland about 1822. They had two girls Jane Isabella
and Margaret., and a stepson John McPherson plus he raised the daughter of
brother John.

In 1855 he was furloughed for health reasons. He retired to Montreal and
died April 17th 1865.He is buried at Rawdon, Quebec, Canada. Another brother
Patrick established a farm at Rawdon and later generations lived in the area.

HBC records show that he was a Clerk, Accountant, Chief Trader and Chief
Clerk. He served in such places as Moose, Albany, Martins Falls, Moose
Factory, Eastmain, Nichiquon, Rupert River and Fort George.

Thomas Corcoran's son Richard Corcoran lived and was a teacher of some kind
at Rawdon.

I'm searching for any additional information, pictures, passenger list of
the EDDYSTONE or any document that might give me more information about my
g-g-g-grandfather Thomas Corcoran, or his brothers John and Patrick.

Many thanks,

Howard Adams
