Correction on last sheet of marriages
....email from Mike Stephenson from Victoria County mailing list
.I'm not sure if you are aware or not that all the Colborne District
marriages have been transcribed and published by Dan Walker and Fawne
Stratford-Devai, ex Ontario Archives...I would say that their
names/dates are about 99% correct in transcribing...
they have also transcribed the Newcastle District marriages 1810 through
1855...these transcriptions are available at
many of our local libraries, museums, and at the Ontario Archives. I
would
suggest that you might want to check some of the names/dates that you
have
put on the mailing list, against the transcriptions...
I also have copies of the original 1837-57 Colborne marriages, and for
example, in the 1842 marriages of William McFadden,
Edward McKeever was married on Jan. 29th, not 27...
and Robert Jones, not James, of Emily was married to Francis
Jones....Mike
