Subject: [UPP-CAN] USING WILDCARDS TO SEARCH (was Re: Looking for Dunville ON)

To all,

An important hint when using *any* online search engine!

Always use wildcards if possible. Rik was spelling DuNNville
incorrectly, thus when looking for DuNville with only one "n"
was not getting any hits.

If Rik had looked for Dun$, or Dun$vil$ more options would
have come up when the search button was hit.

Using wildcards allows for spelling variations, incorrect
spellings, typos, etc.

Not using wildcards limits the value of the search. All online
sites have explanations that will tell you IF they allow
wildcards, and WHAT those wildcards are. Some use %,
some use $, you have to read the explanation (usually called
HELP or HOW TO USE THIS SEARCH ENGINE)
