Dear Edd,
Thanks for reminding me of this! I do need to be reminded
occassionally that not everyone knows the streets and roads of
Olive Tree as well as I do :-)
There's something I neglected to mention in my last post to the
list.
I have a newsletter (Olive Tree Genealogy Newsletter) which I
set up just for that purpose. It is meant to give navigation
tips, suggestions and to inform researchers of uploads and
additions to all my sites.
It's on Yahoo so you have to sign up there (it's free) to join -
- their rules, not mine :-(
You can go to it at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OliveTreeGenealogy/
I think you can read the previous messages without joining
Yahoo, but I'm not sure. When I go in to Yahoo (clicking on
the link above) and am not logged in with my username, I can
see two clickable links on the left hand side - HOME and
MESSAGES. Clicking on MESSAGES gets me to the previously posted
messages (just like the Rootsweb Archives).
Of course once I join Yahoo and have a user name, I can see all
the links on the left as clickable, and accessible.
My newsletter goes out about once every 10 days or so -- 3 to 4
times a month, and I try to include navigation tips for various
sections of my site. It is an announcement type newsletter, not
a discussion one so you will only see my notices in your
mailbox. You can also ask to read it at the Yahoo website if
you dont' want it coming to your mailbox.
I hope this is helpful and please feel free to suggest more
ideas for improvement!
