Hello List,

I have 14 pages of a1838 petition "Settlers in McNab Township,
Renfrew County" by the settlers who vouched for the good
character of one Alexander Ferguson...It is signed by probably
25 to 30 different settlers and officials.with different
letters
from some....I thought this Alexander Ferguson was mine and it
turns out he is not...If anyone wants these papers, I will
mail
them to you for the cost of the postage...In the meantime, here
are some names that appear on the petition page:

We the undersign hereby certify that we have seen Archibald
McNab Esq. of McNab - at the house of Alexander Ferguson
settler on lot number nine in the third concession of the s???.

Township of McNab - in the years eighteen hundred and thirty
five thirty six - and thirty seven, and it is perfectly
consistent with our knowledge that the said Archibald McNab Esq
knew the said Alexander Ferguson and was settled upon the said
lot in the above named years. given with our hand at McNab
this
