Subject: [UPP-CAN] LEEMAN Marriage- St. Andrews Presbyterian Church 1841
Date: Wed, 5 Mar 2003 17:46:15 -0500

I am hoping someone can help me with a marriage record from St. Andrews
Presbyterian Church in Kingston. I have been told that my gg grandfather,
James LEEMAN married Matilda BABCOCK on Nov. 27 1841 in this church. I
would love to kow what other information is included in this record. I
believe that James LEEMAN is the son of Solomon LEEMAN and Melinda ? ( may
be Darling), but I have nothing really firm to base this on.

Solomon LEEMAN may have been born in N.Y. in 1798 and at some time moved to
Ontario where it appears that he was a member of the Militia. I have no
idea when or where he married his first wife, but do know that his second
wife was a Lucinda Babcock.

Perhaps the marriage records of his son James will give some insight into
the first wife question.

Thanks so much for any help finding these very elusive folks.
