I am sorry, but I am sure we do not have a connection as far as our Urban
families are concerned. My g-father, Ludvik (Ludwig) Urban came from
Benetice, Moravia in 1912 & settled in Phillips, Wis where he lived until
his death. I have researched my Urban family back to the 1600's.
Now, as far as any suggestions I have:
1) Do you have a copy of his obituary? That could give his parent's names.
2) Or I would look for where Marguerite came from before her marriage.
Couples were typically married where the bride lived (in that county). If
you can find that county, then write, or look for their application for
marriage license. This is different from the marriage license itself
because the bride & groom actually had to fill it out themselves. That may
show Karl's parents & place of birth.
3) If that doesn't get results, check with the sexton of the cemetery for
what his records say. That informant may have been different than the one
for the death certificates - hopefully.
4) Or, check school records where parents would have had to possibly
register him or signed something.
5) Also, have you posted queries in Rootsweb or Genforum?
6) How about joining a genealogy society - I learned a lot there & they are
always willing to help.
7) If all else fails you can always hire a researcher. You can find many on
the internet who work in the areas you are interested in.
Good luck!
