My Uribe's are from Tepic, Nyarit--at least that is what I've been told. Also, I've been told that my great great grandfather, Roque Uribe came from the Basque region of Spain and that there is a village in Basque country called "Uribe". Does any of this sound familiar to your Uribe family history?
