Hi, I wonder if someone on the List can help me?

Are there any inmate records still extant for ALDERSON State Penitentiary for Women, W/Virginia?

My period of interest is 1930 - 35. the B.O.P. has informed me that they were all destroyed by the 70s, however books are still being written about various inmates around that same time period, so it would seem there is still some archived material out there.

Can anyone suggest were I might find some records, any help or advice would be very welcome.
