Patti,

Thanks for the info. The family tree on Ancestry is mine. I have seen
the info about the 1920 census, but the age is the only problem, at
least with most documents and family recollecions. I hold out hope it
might be him since it is where he claims to be in 1922 on the marriage
record and in 1930 I found him in the census and it states 1911 as when
he immigrated and not the 1917 the my mom and her siblings remember. I
believe the PA is about filing of the papers for naturalization. He
wasn't naturalized til 1936 in New Jersey. Again thanks for the info.

Aric

Aric,

I found Harry Gannon Harpootlian listed in a family tree at Ancestry.com
(would also be at Rootsweb). His wife was Florence Rosetta Smith. They
were married on July 3, 1922 in Ludlow, VT. He was born 5 Jan 1892 in
Malatia, Turkey (listed as Malatia, Armenia on another tree), and he
died 29 Dec 1947 in Jamesburg, NJ. His parents are listed as Nation?
Harpootlian and Helen Darbonian. When I searched for the name
Harpootlian in the census in MA, only one name came up - Horan? or
Horace? Harpootlian. Two brothers? were listed in the 1920 census in
Norfolk Co., MA (township Weymouth), ED#278, Roll T625-724, page 10B,
Image 975. One was Horan? or Horace? Harpootlian (hard to read), age
39, and the other below him was Aaron Harpootlian, age 34. They were
both lodgers and both from Turkey. Their language was Armenian and
their parents were both listed as being born in Turkey and speaking
Armenian. They were both working at a shoe factory, as were some of the
other lodgers ! listed above them on the census. Horace? was a laster
and Aaron was a machine operator. They both immigrated in 1910 (listed
on the census) and in the space for "Naturalized or Alien" it said PA,
which might mean they were naturalized in PA.

Pattie
