Monday, June 5, 2000 from the Mountain Democrat-Placerville, CA.
Loretta T. Clough, 79, of Shingle Springs, died on Thursday, June 1, of natural causes. She was born April 30, 1921, in Florin.
She was a friendly, outgoing woman who enjoyed crafts, sewing, senior bus tours, and traveling, especially to Eagle Lake for fishing. She was a member of the Emblem Club, B.P.O.E. Lodge 1712, and Sons and Daughters of the Native West. She will be remembered as a family-oriented woman who loved being with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce Powers.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Harold L. Clough, her daughters Linda Neahusan of Roseville, Darlene Amaral of Livermore, Eltra Pristass of Grass Valley, her sister Ysabel R. Ramirez of San Leandro, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Green Valley Cemetery. Remembrances can be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements were made by Green Valley Mortuary.
Virginia L. Jones, 85, of Sacramento, died on Tuesday, May 30, of natural causes.
Mrs. Jones was a bright, witty, spunky woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved animals of all types, playing solitaire and cards, going for long walks, traveling to Hawaii, dreaming about Alaska, and keeping her home neat and clean. Artistic by nature, she expressed herself through ceramics, winning a ribbon at the State Fair. She also enjoyed flower gardening, and when weather did not permit her to grow them outside, she lined rows of beautifully tended African Violets inside. She believed in being active inher children's lives, and when they were young, she served as president of the P.T.A. and taught Sunday school.
She was precede in death by her husband, Amon Jones Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Amon and Robert Jones, her daughter Darlene McCollough, her brother, Eldon H. Holloway and Boyd H. Holloway, her sister Anna J. Ogle, Joyce E More and Era Arlene Norman, eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held. Arrangements made by Green Valley Mortuary in Placerville.
Anna S. Seibert, 101, a Placerville resident, died on Friday, June 2. She was born Aug. 17, 1898, in Maryland.
Mrs. Seibert was a homemaker. She was a past member of the North Braddock 4th Street Methodist Church in Pennsylvania. She was also a charter member of the Ladies Society. She moved to El Dorado County from Pennsylvania 16 years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Seibert, and her son Martin Seibert.
She is survived by her sons, James Seibert of Placerville, Harold Seibert of Texas and her brother, James Whitfield of Mason Town Pa., four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6 at Chapel of the Pines in Placerville, Internment will be at Westwood Hills Memorial Park.
Arrangements were made by Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home.
