Tilbert A. NELSON, 85, of Windom, died April 5, 1994, at home.
Services were held Friday at the American Lutheran Church in Windom with
Revs. Dan Carlson and Keith Zeh officiating.
Special music was presented by Judy Freuhling, vocalist, and Carol Vought,
organist.
Interment was in the Memory Gardens in Windom.
Pallbearers were Robert Kirstein, Steve Nelson, Ronald Lammers, Cal Cramer,
Ron Flatgard and Richard Johnson.
Tilbert Anton NELSON, son of Andrew and Annie BOTTOM NELSON, was born in
Great Bend Township, Cottonwood County, on Aug. 24, 1908. He received his
education in the Windom public schools.
In 1934, he married Ella WARMBIER at the American Lutheran Church in
Windom. They lived on the home farm while he worked and farmed for other farmers
in the area.
In 1936, Tilbert and Ella moved to a farm in Delafield Township,
Jackson County and farmed there until retiring in 1970. After retirement, he
continued to help his son, Myron, on the farm.
He was a member for the American Lutheran Church where he served as an
usher. He served six years on the Delafield Township Board.
Til was preceded in death by one sister, Aveline, and two brothers, Gordon
and Edward.
Survivors include his wife, Ella; one son, Myron of Windom; two
grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; two step great
-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs Lawrence (Gertrude) HANSON of Wilder, Iva
SWENSON of Wilder and Erma POWELL of Whittier, Calif.; and one brother, Morris
of Windom.
