Rev. Lena Marie Curl, 82, of Springfield went home to be with the Lord on
Thursday, September 7, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center. She was born March 19,
1918, in New Holland, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Susan Vannoy. She was
an ordained minister of the gospel for well over 50 years. She served the
Lord as an evangelist, singer, and Sunday school teacher for many years. Her
husband, Victor Curl preceded her in death in 1967. She leaves to cherish
her memory, a son and daughter-in-law, Paul E. and Elizabeth Wilson of
Springfield; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Jim Barton of New York;
four grandchildren, Jimmy Jr., Michelle, and Jonathan Barton, and Angel
Browning; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Curl was a member of Beacon
Street Church of Christ in Christian Union. She loved the Lord very much.
Her motto was "his grace is suffficient for thee". Visitation will be held
one hour prior to services in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Memorial Home with
Rev. David Glauner officiating. Burial will follow.
