Florence McLean Hoheim
Age 81, died unexpectedly October 8, 2001. A lifetime
Tacoma resident, she was raised on Day Island,
attended Rogers and University Place Elementary
schools, Jason Lee Junior High and Stadium High School
('37). She graduated from College of Puget Sound
('41) where she met her husband, Jack.
Florence was a long time active member of First
Presbyterian Church. For many decades, she taught
Sunday school, was superintendent of the primary
department and developed many rich friendships there.
She also participated in P.E.O. Chapter C, her local
garden club, and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She
enjoyed many years of skiing, creative sewing,
gardening, floral arranging and volunteering in Girl
Scouts. She will be deeply missed by her family and
friends.
She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Ronnie
Hoheim of Issaquah, Clare and Don Barker of Silver
Spring, Maryland and Becky and Pat Boyd of Medina;
grandchildren Katy Leach, Lock Leach, Chris Barker,
Alex Barker, Molly Boyd and Austin Boyd; and
great-grandchild Hope Sussman. She also leaves
cousins Beverly Storkman and Phyllis Hanchett.
Florence was predeceased by her husband of 59 years,
jack, and a granddaughter, Gina.
A memorial service is planned for Monday, October
15th, 10 am at First Presbyterian Church, TAcoma. In
lieu of lfowers, it is suggested memorials be sent to
First Presbyterian Church.
