Marilyn Kay Cordell, 55, of Leander, formally of Taylor, passed away
Thursday, September 15, 2005 at the Round Rock Medical Center. Visitation
will be 6-8 PM Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home Chapel.
Celebration of Life Services will be 10 AM, Monday, September 19, 2005 at
Providence Funeral Home Chapel with Brandon Groome officiating. Burial will
follow at Taylor City Cemetery.

Marilyn K. Cordell was born on December 3, 1949 in Mineral Wells, Texas to
Edward and Zilla Jean (Cordell) Owen. She grew up in Mineral Wells, lived in
Beaumont and then moved to the Austin, Round Rock, and Pflugerville area
where she had a number of restaurants. She lived in Taylor for about 8
years. Marilyn was a fighter, full of life, and very strong willed. She was
a farm girl who loved the simple things in life. She also loved the
outdoors, fishing, and gardening. Her life was her children and her
grandchildren, she loved being together with her family. She will be greatly
missed by all of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother and a granddaughter, Mallorie Hall.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters, LaNetta Rogers and husband, Bowdy of
Leander; Shawntay Renee Hall and husband, Chris of Taylor; Dana Diane Hall
of Leander; a brother, Russell Owen and wife, Teresa of Arkansas; sisters,
Charlotte Stewart and husband, Jack of Arkansas, Sherry Burns and husband,
Ronnie of Mineral Wells, TX.; her father, Ed L. Owen and wife Jane;
grandchildren, Ashley Frederick, Jeremy Frederick, Chelsea Rogers,
Christopher Rogers, Justin Hall, Caleb Hall, Haley Hall, Ashton Hall, and
numerous other friends and relatives.

In lieu of memorials friends may make contributions to help the family with
funeral expenses.
