Michael A. "Mick" Boggs, age 55, of Hillsdale, passed away Sunday, March 26,
2006. He was born April 26, 1950 in Monroe, MI, to Louis & Ruth A.
(Galbraith) Boggs.
Michael served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, and was stationed at Fort
Knox, KY and Fort Sill, OK. He served one year in Vietnam, with the 1st
Field Forces, 52nd Artillery Dusters. While living in Monroe, MI he attended
both Zion Lutheran Church and School; he graduated from Monroe High School
in 1968. After moving from Monroe he worked at Hillsdale College in Food
Service. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by a daughter, Teresa (Fred) Kaepp of Woodhaven, MI; two
sons, Shawn Boogs & Barbie Perry of Ypsilanti, and Jonathan Boggs of
Hillsdale; fiancee, Linda Conklin of Hillsdale. Grandchildren, Cassie Kaepp,
Brett Boggs, and Shawn Spencer; One sister, Melinda (Jack) Yaeger of
Carleton; and one brother, Marvin Boggs of Carleton. Extended family, Daniel
Penza, Teresa Penza, Tyson TenEyck, and Angela TenEyck; extended
grandchildren, Michael Penza, Jacob Hurtubise, Jessica Hurtubise, Tanner
TenEyck, and Ty TenEyck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Myron Boggs.
There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 1:00 p.m.
at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, officiated by Rev. Don
Harkey. A memorial visitation will be on Monday, April 3, from 6-8 p.m. at
the funeral home.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a donation to the
Vietnam Veterans Association.
