Probably not! I do have both Whatleys and Whaleys in my family tree and
they are usually totally different families. My Whaley lines do have
the
variant spelling Whealey, though! By 1726 my James Whealey (Whaley) is
in
Stafford Co, VA and I have yet to find anything about him or his parents
before that date.
