I don't know if there is a USGenWeb policy on book sales, though
there is a RootsWeb policy.

There are three limitations on free RootsWeb space:

o No copyrighted material, save with permission.

o No personal material (GEDCOMs, etc.).

o No commercial material.

The reason for no copyrighted material is obvious, and the reason
for no personal or commercial material is because RootsWeb sells
space (at our cost) for those activities.

Technically county book sales violate the third limitation, but in
practice RootsWeb is behaving in its usual laid-back fashion and not
hassling anyone about this.

If anyone wants to do The Right Thing and formally sell material,
contact me and we can work something out. RootsWeb is planning on
opening a Marketplace ere long, and we can help users find material
your Societies have for sale ... -B
