Each term a member of the AB serves as a representative to the Election
Committee. What that person believes they should do as the EC Rep. has
varied from year to year and it may be beneficial to both the Election
Committee and the Advisory Board (especially the person serving in that
position) if they understood that position's scope.

I served in that position for a year and during that time I mainly served as
a liaison between the Advisory Board and the Election Committee. I was
subscribed to their mailing list, but did not participate as an active
member of the EC. I brought questions to the EC from the AB and vice versa
that needed to be addressed. Others that have served in this position have
taken a more active role with the Election Committee (for example, they've
helped with communications between the EC and project members).

When a new person serves in this position, they don't always know what they
are supposed to do. I was just subbed to the list with little to no
instruction, so I think it would be beneficial to have a brief scope for
this position.

Thanks,
Cyndie
SP Rep.

Advisory Board Representative to the Election Committee.

-- Define the scope of the Advisory Board Representative to the Election
Committee [Discussion opened by Chair on August 23, 2008. Re-opened by

Cyndie Enfinger added this item to the agenda so if you would like to begin
the discussion Cyndie, that would be terrific.

I open this agenda item up for discussion.
