I have always kept the queries coming to me directly--------I have found that
this has been a benefit to both the researcher, the website, and our county
discussion list.
The researcher is always pleased to hear back from me- I let them know that the
query is posted, and I will add their surnames to the surnmame page, if I know
of prior messages or data in the archives I will direct them, pass on any
materials I have on their family name, etc...... and I personally invite them to
join our discussion list.................we have created a real community of
researchers here in Mariposa------------if you look at the website you will find
that it is comprised of donations of materail from many researchers........ we
are having a good time!
I realize that the above may not work for everyone, but for Mariposa County,
this approach has led to ** participation** of many many volunteers-
Best, Carolyn
