Subject: [USNAVY] A SUBMARINE ARTICLE THAT "MAY" BE OF SOME INTEREST
Date: Mon, 15 Sep 2008 12:28:51 +0000
Greetings to the Lists,
A few days ago a lady "posted" a question about attempting to find a ship or vessel that had a "fish name".....well one thing led to another....and a good computer friend of mine......suggested looking into a submarine "Sailfish (SS-192)"
Well as all of this progressed I got to digging around in the 'Sailfish's history' and the ole lightbulb went off on an article that I transcribed several months back about this very same "sub".
Actually the sub...named "Squalus" one of the same as "Sailfish"....went down and was salvaged......of which was a very interesting event in saving the crew..............
Anyway...........the title of this article: THE TASK: LETS BRING EM UP ALIVE is about an 8 pager........excellent pictures....and some info on the diving bell they used to get to the crew.
Also along with the above article I'm attaching another file...........which will be the "DANFS" history of this vessel.....
So....if you wish to give this a read...............or to re-read it............just give me a 'heads-up" and I'll send along both files..........
Now folks this will be some very interesting reading........as your fumbling around in your morning fog....trying to wrap them fingers around that warm cup of 'Joe'.....and that "muffin" that your better half has set on the table....is saying "Please, please take one small bite"............this article just may be the ticket for a delightful morning.....along with all your other 'sins'.
Tell you what................I'll even throw in the 'muffin' if you want the articles......[so expect a surprise]....one heck of a deal!!!!
Enjoy!!
