The following is a query I submitted to the Montana List. Alexander
graduated from university in Manitoba in 1907. It is possible he stayed with
his brother James in Utah, before moving on to Montana. James was born Dec
1886 in Nova Scotia and died 26 Apr 1919 in Milford, Utah. In the 1920
Montana census, a niece, May MacAulay born 1904, Utah was living with
Alexander in Montana. I assume this is James' daughter. I have no record of
James' marriage, or offspring. Possibly other family members, parents, sibs
could be living with or nearby James.

I am looking for the family of Doctor Alexander M. MacAulay born 1876, Cape
Breton, Nova Scotia and his wife Anne born in Illinois. Alexander died in
Montana, 1940. His parents and sister may be living with him.
Father Donald born 1848 died 1918, mother Margaret born 1854 died 1927.
Sister Charlotte born 1891, died after 1940.
This family was in Nova Scotia in the 1901 Canadian Census, but does not
appear in 1911. I suspect that Alexander, his sister Charlotte and their
parents went west between the 1901 and 1911 census. In 1891 census Charlotte
is listed as Lottie, new born, in the 1901 census she is Margaret L., born 1
Apr 1891, so she could appear as Margaret or Maggie. In Alexander's Cape
Breton obit it lists his sister, Charlotte, RN living in Great Falls,
Montana.
